Sumitomo EXPO2025 Promotion Committee Chairman Kuniharu Nakamura visits the Sumitomo Pavilion site

On April 12, 2024, with one year to go to Expo 2025, Osaka, Kansai, Japan, Mr. Kuniharu Nakamura, Chairman of the Sumitomo EXPO2025 Promotion Committee, visited Yumeshima, the site of the Sumitomo Pavilion.

During the inspection tour, a full-scale mockup of a section of the wooden roof, which will be a distinctive feature of the Sumitomo Pavilion, and the progress of work at the construction site of the Sumitomo Pavilion were confirmed. Construction is underway as scheduled with approximately 15% of the project completed (as of April 12, 2024), with completion slated for the end of December 2024.

After the inspection, Chairman Nakamura commented, “I was pleased to see that the construction of the Sumitomo Pavilion is progressing smoothly. After seeing the mock-up and touring the site, I can imagine the completed Sumitomo Pavilion. We would like to thank everyone involved, whether they are working on or off the site, and ask for their continued cooperation and support as we progress toward completion of the project.”
