Streamlined venue setup by handling imported building materials and consolidating transportation.

As a designated business operator for handling cargo within the venue of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, Sumitomo Warehouse is supporting the Expo using its nearby facilities. During the site development phase, the company provided just-in-time (JIT) transportation* of materials for infrastructure projects. During the pavilion construction phase, it stored imported building materials in bonded conditions and ensured flexible transportation in line with the construction schedule. Now, during the preparation phase for interior decoration and exhibitions, the company is consolidating a wide variety of interior and exhibition materials at its warehouse, enabling flexible transportation to support efficient on-site installation.

  • Just-in-time transportation: Delivering the necessary materials in the required quantity, exactly when they are needed.

During the Expo, Sumitomo Warehouse will handle and transport consumer goods such as foodstuffs and souvenirs, as well as supplies used for operations and events, using various methods. The Expo is expected to attract more than 150,000 visitors per day—equivalent to the birth of a new city—generating significant demand for dining and shopping, which in turn requires a robust logistics system. Sumitomo Warehouse will contribute to the smooth operation of the Expo by utilizing the knowhow and experience it has accumulated over the years. After the Expo, the company will also be involved in handling the removal and re-export of dismantled materials, assisting with the post-event cleanup .
